  • Completed 23-24 FAFSA
  • ATTACHED most recent transcripts between
  • High School transcripts showing cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
  • GED transcript showing Battery Average score of 610 or above
  • College transcripts showing completion of at least 12 college-level credit hours and cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
  • ATTACHED personal essay answering the following 3 prompts:

1. What are your academic and/or career goals? How does/will attending CCA assist you in reaching these goals?

2. What experiences have influenced you to pursue higher education? Identify and explain how those experiences impacted you.

3. How would a scholarship support your academic and/or career goals?

  •  Submit completed application and  supporting materials to  FinancialAid.CCA@ccaurora.edu or in person to Financial Aid at the CentreTech campus.

This Scholarship is available for the Fall and Spring semesters; awards will not be applied retroactively.

-Award amounts will be determined by the number of credit hours the recipient is attending each semester—award values prorate for less than full-time enrollment and will not disburse at less than six credit hours.

-Amounts are limited based on availability and may be adjusted when factoring other Financial Assistance awarded.

-This scholarship may not be used in conjunction with other CCA Institutional Grants or Scholarships.

-If selected for this scholarship in the Fall semester, you must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress to remain eligible for a renewal in Spring.

Statement of Educational Purpose: I certify that I will use any money that I am offered, unless I specifically decline the offer in writing, from a Federal or State of Colorado assisted loan, grant, scholarship, or work-study program only for the expenses related to my attendance at the Community College of Aurora. Should my enrollment status or financial situation change after I am offered financial aid, I understand that I am responsible for repaying any funds I receive which cannot be reasonably attributed to meeting my educational expenses at the Community College of Aurora. I understand that any financial assistance offered to me is based on the availability of funding and may be revised.

I understand that before I can be considered for this scholarship or any other type of financial aid, I must be officially admitted to the Community College of Aurora in a financial aid eligible degree or certificate program. Applicants who obtain a previously earned Bachelor’s degree will not be eligible for this scholarship. Candidates must meet all financial aid eligibility requirements as set by the Department of Education.

ADVANCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Advance Scholarship is a merit-based award offered to Colorado residents who:

  • Have graduated High School with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or higher, OR
  • Have earned a GED with a Battery Average score of 610 or higher, OR
  • Is transferring to CCA from another institution after completing at least 12 college level credits with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or above, OR
  • Is a continuing CCA student who has completed at least 12 college level credits with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or above

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Colorado Resident
  • Applying for scholarship in first semester of college coursework (current ASCENT/Concurrent Enrollment students are not eligible) AND
  • Have graduated High School with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or higher, OR
  • Have earned a GED with a Battery Average score of 610 or higher

-OR-

Is a continuing CCA student or transfer student who has completed at least 12 college-level credits with a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or above

  • U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • 23-24 FAFSA completed: meet financial aid eligibility requirements as set by the Department of Education
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester at CCA while being considered for the award
  • Be admitted to a financial aid eligible degree or certificate program at CCA
  • Not Pell eligible according to EFC on 23-24 FAFSA

*Priority consideration will be to applications received by deadline as listed below.

Priority deadline to apply for spring semester: November 30, 2023
